The EVCOM Screen Awards produced surprises at the ceremony. The EVCOM Clarion Awards 2017 gave us clear winners among agencies for the film categories and across all categories. Who topped the table?
Moving Image focuses on film, so we’ll start there. We analysed who won what from four different perspectives: golds won, number of winning projects, total awards won and total score by weighting. We calculated who performed most consistently across all four measures, giving us the top agency.
The film winners
This year’s most successful video production company was Media Zoo, who came top in three of four metrics. They headed the film pack with another impressive awards performance, winning five trophies for four projects and four clients including one gold. In 2016 Media Zoo were judged the EVCOM Production Company of the Year by a panel of corporate comms directors. Clearly an agency to watch, see the Moving Image profile.
Plastic Pictures were in second place. They showed strength in depth with four awards for three projects and three clients, including two silvers. drp’s haul covered both events and film, but in film alone they won gold, bronze and highly commended to seize third place.
Across all film, event and digital categories, three agencies smashed it. EdComs are always a strong contender with their focus on education and a full service range of events, film and digital. They grabbed 11 nominations, nine in events categories including three golds and no fewer than six silvers. Click here for the agency profile.
drp and GROSVENORFILM got eight nominations for five projects including two golds and three silvers. Active Training Team were awesomely consistent with three trophies, all of them gold for Your Choice, including the coveted Strategy/Campaign award.
The full list of winners of the Clarion Awards, in association with drp, is on the EVCOM website. The Clarions recognise outstanding CSR communications in film, events and digital and are judged by impartial panels of in-house comms pros and agency producers.
